Top 3 Rice Alternatives That Help Burn Fat

DOES RICE MAKE YOU FAT?

By Dr Carl – Nutritionist, Chiropractor and Author of the GUT FLORA SLIM DOWN PROGRAM

For centuries, really, rice has been the staple food for over half the world’s population.

It’s readily available and a cheap food that fills you up…

Even today, over 3.5 billion people depend on this grain for more than 20% of their daily calorie intake.

However, what may surprise you is rice isn’t the perfect, harmless grain it’s marketed to be. And that includes brown rice.

Many health gurus argue that it makes you fat… While others say It is rich in nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, and is an excellent source of complex carbohydrates.

I think we could build a case for both of these opinions… and a quick google search will likely give you the down-low of the pros and cons of RICE.

But, in this article, I’ll focus on healthy delicious alternatives  (that will help you burn FAT)

So let’s dive in…

3. Quinoa

First up is the untouchable quinoa, which easily overtakes rice in terms of lowering the risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, managing type 2 diabetes, and of course, losing weight.

Quinoa isn’t actually a grain; rather, it’s the seed of the goosefoot.

It’s more related to beets and spinach than rice. As a result, it packs quite a punch when it comes to the number of benefits it holds.

You want to AMPLIFY your health while burning FAT… Start here…

Half a cup of cooked quinoa has four grams of protein. That’s double the amount half a cup of rice has. And because protein is known for its unquenchable power of digesting more slowly, it keeps you feeling fuller for much longer.

It also reduces bloating-- at the same time, it adds bulk, magnesium, and copper to your meal.

Quinoa also contains the NINE essential amino acids our bodies need. Lastly, in addition to working wonders on your metabolism, it’s known to give your energy levels a boost and improve bone health.

And we’ve got some great news for you! This wonderful, delicious, and healthy rice alternative is a gluten-free package! That’s right. Quinoa is gluten-free.

One of my favorite ways to eat it is to mix it with cucumber and season with freshly squeezed lemon and orange juice… It makes a scrumptious lunch snack.

Next up is…

2. Barley

Barley is a cereal grain that is an absolute game-changer. And hey! It’s a lot more similar to rice in appearance, has almost the same amount of calories, and wins the award for providing GREATER benefits by a landslide.

For one thing, it helps reduce the risk of obesity, heart disease, several types of cancer, diabetes, and some chronic health issues.

Half a cup of cooked barley provides around 100 calories, the same as white rice. At the same time, it has more nutrients, protein, and fiber.

As you chew on its tasty, earthy flavor, you’re getting the best of both worlds: an excellent filler or main meal and all the vitamins, minerals, manganese, copper, vitamin B1, chromium, phosphorus, magnesium, selenium, molybdenum, and selenium you could ask for.

Or to put it in a nutshell, its high fiber content, soluble fiber, in particular, makes you feel a lot fuller for a longer period of time, as well as dramatically reduces belly fat.

To cook it, all you need to do is boil one part of hulled barley and four parts of water, reduce the heat to medium and cook for around 25 minutes or until it becomes soft. Drain the water and enjoy your delicious, guilt-free, healthy rice alternative!

Before we get to number #1 – Let’s throw out a bonus alternative. Shirataki Rice

Now the reason this doesn’t make the list proper is that it doesn’t seem to be available everywhere…

I know it’s readily available in the United States… But in other countries, it can be more difficult to source…

Shirataki rice is made from a Japanese tuber called Konyaku, which has Glucomannan starch.

This starch is extracted and mixed with water to make konnyaku, and this is shredded to make traditional shirataki noodles . . . and now rice.

This “rice” is vegan and gluten-free so more people can eat shiraktaki rice…

But the big NEWS here is that it has almost zero calories which is great because glucomannan starch is an indigestible dietary fiber and also contains no carbohydrates. So PERFECT for weight loss.

The only downside it that shirataki rice is basically nutrient-free…  But hey… you can get your daily nutrients from other food sources…

Now for our Number #1 rice substitute that is also low carb and low calorie, and very easy to find.

1. Riced Cauliflower

This is the low-carb, low-calorie alternative to the rice you need!

If you still can’t kick rice out of your meals, riced cauliflower is the closest in texture and appearance, so it’s not that wild of a jump.

Half a cup of white rice has around 100 calories…

…Riced cauliflower only has 13. So yet again another great choice for weight loss…

But the benefits don’t stop there…

It’s been linked to a lower risk of type 2 diabetes, heart diseases, and cancer…

With it bursting with protein and fiber, it improves digestion, deflates bloating, and helps feed the healthy bacteria in your gut.

It is also an incredibly good source of vitamin C and fiber…

In order to make it, all you need is to cut a cauliflower head into several pieces, grate them or throw them in a food processor.

You can cook them over medium heat; add little oil, a quick sauté later, you’re golden!

Use it for the crust of a homemade healthy pizza… Throw a curry on top of it… You can even use it for some “air-fried rice”

Delicious goodness right there!!!

There are of course plenty of other rice substitutes that have a positive effect in the Battle against the BULGE.

And many of them will help you lose weight.

But that is just the beginning of what must be done to burn fat from especially those problem areas…

You know… the thighs, hips, and BELLY… these are the areas where FAT can be super stubborn…

BUT BEWARE…

There are many “weight loss” fads out there that promise you’ll burn all the fat you want in just a few weeks…

What they don’t tell you is that to make them work you need buckets of willpower to get over the horrific cravings that overwhelm your body…

WORSE STILL… These so-called “Weight loss methods” can spell DANGER for your health…

And in many cases actually have the REVERSE effect once you stop following them…

So you end up PUTTING all the weight PLUS some back on…

You may have tried these kinds of diets before… and it is disheartening, right?

Here's what you should do next...
